With an outstanding track record of innovation in South Africa spanning over 90 years, Gallo Music Publishers now leads the pack in locally produced and commissioned production music libraries. Gallo Music Publishers is represented by Sony globally and in partnership with Content Connect Africa – Africa Loves Music offers young and emerging composers.
Gallo Music Records Seen as one of the four major record companies in South Africa, next to Sony, Universal and Warner. It is the longest running independent record labels in Africa and manages and owns the largest catalogue of African master recordings in the world.
As one of the twentieth century’s most recognisable global music brands, Gallo also has witnessed some of that era’s significant historic events and inventions that shaped popular culture in Southern Africa – the talking motion picture, cinema, vinyl, gramophone, FM radio and stereo records, while being best known as a powerhouse record label, to this day.
Gallo’s large catalogue is currently being revived through the Gallo Remix project which is executive produced by Black Coffee.
CCA is a distribution business representing over 2000 artists and labels across the continent. Its core business is its relationship with the network operators across the continent offering content and marketing strategies to its clients.
The company constantly challenges the digital divide by bridging the vast number of media users throughout Africa and developing entertainment services that reflect and fit with the cultural values and unique nature of the continent.
It has developed the Viva Nation TV brand which is an OTT service with full payment gateway access to mobile money through the continent as well as credit card facilities globally. Bolted onto the Viva Brand is its online radio station Viva Nation radio.
Viva Nation serves as a media hosting and production house providing entertainment and content sourced form through Africa and abroad.
Launched in 2018, Viva Nation TV is a global OTT service showcasing diverse African narratives, from fashion, lifestyle to conservation. It amplifies African youth and independent talent, with content sourced from countries like South Africa, Nigeria, and the USA.
